Tessa Curtis is an independent consultant with over 20 years’ experience in public relations consultancy and journalism. She specialises in high-level work with national media, strategic consultancy and thought leadership and has wide-ranging client experience with consumer brands, B2B and professional services firms.
She set up Tessa Curtis Associates in 2003, handling corporate public relations from London for major international clients, including Egon Zehnder and Benetton Group. TCA also works in partnership with the leading fashion agency, Modus Publicity, providing corporate PR and consultancy services to its fashion, beauty and lifestyle clients.
Previously at Weber Shandwick Worldwide, the global PR arm of Interpublic Group, Tessa led WSW’s corporate, financial and strategic media practices from London and headed integrated global teams for major international clients, including Coca Cola, IBM and Kodak. Later at Trimedia Communications, another international PR consultancy and part of the Huntsworth Group, at different times she led the agency’s corporate, media training and European professional services practices.
Tessa has expertise in all areas of PR gained with many national and international clients, notably in the areas of corporate reputation, corporate responsibility, issues/ crisis and international media relations. She is also a highly experienced trainer – in areas of professional expertise, and media – variously being an Approved Trainer for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations; a contributor at the Cass Business School in London and for the Dubai-based International School of Communication.
Originally a journalist, Tessa moved from the weekly trade papers and magazines to national newspapers covering business – first as a Correspondent at The Daily Telegraph and then Business Correspondent at the BBC, for TV and radio national news and flagship programmes.
A graduate of Oxford University and a full CIPR member, Tessa enjoys tennis, walking and the arts. She lives in London.
