    -- aiming to equip senior leaders with the advanced skills to work with their Directors of Communication to manage change within an organisation and transition towards developing a high performing, outcome-based culture that delivers results.

    Who should attend?

    This workshop is designed for Chief Executives, Board members, Directors of Operations, Finance Directors, Chairs of Charities and Non-Executive Directors or Trustees who want to develop their leadership skills in strategic communications. It will be particularly interesting to those leading change or transition through merger or acquisition. It may also appeal to those who are operating beneath Board Level who wish to accumulate knowledge of key components of communication strategy and reputation management.

    Course content

    Understanding the importance of Vision/Mission

    This module gives an overview of how to develop and deliver a corporate vision and mission, how to communicate it with meaning so that your staff understand the transition your organisation is undertaking, and your leadership consider what is required to be able to deliver corporate goals.

    Bringing together your corporate services

    This module shows you how to bring together your corporate services so that they can work coherently to deliver corporate goals, sharing resources and matrix working patterns. It highlights the importance of developing a senior leadership programme across the organisation and shows you how to place communication at the heart of this process. 

    Developing positive behaviours

    This module shows you how to communicate the values of the organisation and link them to performance management through the appraisal cycle so that employees are rewarded for the value that they bring to the business not just by delivering their objectives, but by how they do it. It also shows you how to deliver change across your workforce by reinforcing positive behaviours.

    Handling the difficult stuff

    This module is designed to help you overcome communicating difficult messages around potential redundancy issues, change and transition, overcoming a ’jobs for life’ culture and the importance of communicating regularly even when there is very little to say. It also gives you hints and tips on how to handle difficult situations and how to be perceived as fair and consistent.

    Course format

    This is a half-day course for busy professionals who may not have had any formal training in communication strategy and reputation management. 

    There will be some PowerPoint slides but the majority of the learning experience will be about sharing real life case studies. 

    It will be packed full of examples designed to help you develop your own style of leadership communication and equip you to feel more confident about leading, managing and developing the culture within your organisation to become more focused on performance and outcomes that can be measured for success.
