Rapid, proactive and effective crisis response
A one-day advanced-level course on rapid media and online response to contain a PR crisis
This course covers how to take control of communication in the crucial early moments after a negative news event. You will learn to activate crisis systems quickly, develop positioning on the fly, take charge of the news media, and manage the online space. Training includes videotaped crisis TV interview coaching.
Course format
NOTE: this course follows on from a separate one-day course the previous day: “Crisis Communication Management”. Most people attend both courses together. If you are also interested in the how to prepare strategies, systems, resources and protocols before a crisis strikes, you should book a place on both courses.
“Crisis Media and Online Engagement” features high quality multi-media presentations, real-world case studies, and the chance to brainstorm around your own issues. Popular elements include the opportunity to discuss crisis communications with an experienced journalist and practice in simulated crisis interviews with video feedback and coaching.
Expect a full run-down from experienced crisis management specialists on the fundamentals of crisis communications, including case studies of effective and ineffective crisis management.
The day comprises four modules each covering a set of key concepts and skills. Within each module, best practice and key concepts are covered off in a concise briefing, followed by a range of stimulating learning activities like team workshops, group discussions, topical case studies and role-play exercises.
